All our products are 100% organic and don’t contain any chemical or artificial additives. 9five’s sourcing and production processes are specifically designed to ensure that our products can replace the use of harmful synthetic chemical fertilisers used by farmers and gardeners. These organic growing mediums improve product quality, yields, water use, eliminate the use of harmful chemicals and lower costs. 

The problem with synthetic chemical fertilisers is that they literally force feed plants, causing them to grow very quickly which results in soft, elongated plant growth, lowering plant yields over time – unless it is accompanied by increased chemical fertilisers – and increasing insect and weed populations. 

Chemical fertilisers are essentially mineral salts. When added to soil they destroy the natural soil-food web ecosystem. Left alone, soil has an active ecosystem which supports life, including beneficial soils organisms which play an important role in facilitating soil health and photosynthesis and balancing a complex operating system.
