About us
The 9five story
9five has revolutionised the organic compost industry by developing a scientifically formulated process to manufacture a microbiologically diverse, nutrient-dense growing medium.
Although chemical fertilisers continue to dominate commercial food production, a growing body of evidence indicates that the continued use of these products are damaging the environment and destroying the soil’s natural biodiversity. When combined with the continued use of herbicides and pesticides, the result is declining crop yields which in turn, dramatically increases costs over time.
When the soil’s natural biodiversity is destroyed, plant yield decreases, plants are more susceptible to disease and more water is required for growth to be achieved.
The solution?
Our unique products have been designed and are suitable for use and compatible with Commercial Farmer’s mechanised planting equipment and irrigation systems. Regenerating and restoring soils to optimal health by re-introducing biodiversity with 9five’s uniquely formulated organic soil enhancer. Free of chemical inputs, 9five’s range of organic composts and growing mediums ensure optimal plant growth.

The 9five difference
The majority of compost manufacturers don’t control their inputs or composting processes resulting in an inconsistent product from a quality perspective with limited benefits for consumers.
What makes 9five’s products different is that we have developed a carefully designed formula and state-of-the-art processes to produce a nutrient-dense, biologically diverse, quality controlled organic compost.
By controlling the input variables and using a scientifically proven raw material mix and material blending methodology, which includes stringent process and quality controls, we ensure a consistently high-quality product that restores biodiversity and regenerates soil back to its natural state.
This nutrient-rich, biodiverse growing mediums produce nutrients for plants in “Plant Available Form”, allowing plants to process nutrients more efficiently, in the process producing strong and healthy plants which grow faster, are less susceptible to disease and utilise water more efficiently.
We feed some of this organic compost to our hardworking earthworms housed in a climate-controlled building specifically designed to replicate the worm’s natural environment. During the process of digestion, the worms enrich the compost by a factor of millions:1 to ensure an even more nutrient-dense organic product.
By understanding the needs of farmers, growers and landscapers, we then blend our compost with the earthworm castings and produce custom blends designed for specific applications, including citrus, avocados, berries, legumes and seedlings, to name but a few.

Our pledge to the environment
At 9five we are as passionate about protecting the environment as we are about restoring the soil’s natural biodiversity. We pledge to help restore the soil’s natural biodiversity and regenerate soil back to its natural microbial balance without the use of any chemical additives and salts.
Our pledge to product quality
We pride ourselves on producing a best of breed, consistently high-quality product. We pledge that our composting process will adhere to internationally acceptable and auditable standards. To ensure that our compost products meet consistently high-quality standards we test every product in process daily and regularly take samples for independent verification and biological analysis. That way, whilst we are dealing with nature, we can control our processes to ensure the highest possible consistent quality product produced at our facility.
